In this course we will be growing a fantastic dragon, full of great felting secrets.
This course is sold as a recording of stream course, which was broadcasted earlier.
It is ready for self-study at your own pace with my support.
What is a livestream course?
It is as close as possible to a face-to-face workshop format, it involves working together during the broadcast and a lot of communication. I show you the process of creating a dragon and you work with me at the same time on your own ones. I answer all your questions via chat and help you cope with the work as efficiently as possible.
What do we do on a course?
On the course we will create a wonderful good-natured dragon from start to finish. The dragon is a miniature sculpture, a one-piece doll (the height of the finished toy is 11 cm and its weight is 15 g).
Despite the complexity of the mythical prototype, we will be able to grow a cute representative of its species in two sessions, using a minimum of materials - isn't that magic? In the process we use wet felting, the basics of dry felting, working with decorative fibres and materials, and embroidery. We work with extra fine wool in 3D-sculpture format. Modelling with wool evokes an incredible feeling, a kind of creative omnipotence. You can mould anything.
Toys should not be underestimated - they are complex three-dimensional sculptures, with which you can learn a huge number of non-toy techniques and methods. At the same time, the process itself is a real anti-stress, because you always get something marvellous, and here we have a whole dragon growing!
How long is the course, and is it suitable for beginners?
This course consist of 3 lessons: one introduction on tools and materials and 2 practical lessons about 3 hrs each. The course is ideal for beginners, but will also be of interest to experienced masters. I give very detailed instructions, so there is absolutely nothing to be afraid of. In addition, you will have a recording with unlimited access and my support.
Does it take much to get started?
The list of necessary materials and tools for this course is not big, everything can be easily found. I describe everything in great detail in the PDF file and introduction lesson that you receive right after payment, so that you have time to prepare before the course.
The dragon in this course is a miniature figurine toy. To create felted miniatures, you don't need many materials and tools - toys weigh 7-15 grams only, and of the specific tools you need a ribbed antislipping mat from IKEA (or similar), as well as a needle felting needle. These tools must be prepared in advance, but the pleasure of felting is guaranteed! Believe me, I've been felting toys for 17 years, and still enjoy it.
Will I like it?
Such miniature toys are perfect pocket and table companions. Guaranteed to lift your spirits. And in the process of making them as well. Felting such toys is a complex art therapy - there is wool, hand work and wonderful heroes. It's all positive.
