In October, in the sixth game of #bibabowowildmarathon, we got the letter K (Russian K) and a twist. It is second plant game!
Quick rules
Once a month, we randomly raffle a letter of the alphabet, to which you must choose from any of our planet's current fauna - from a bug to a whale - according to your tastes. Within a month you have to make a work inspired by this character and post it with the tag #bibabowildmarathon, adding a couple of interesting facts about this animal in the description of the work. Work in any format or technique as long as it's to your liking and suits your creative ideas.
You can see the full rules of the game on the start page of the game (choose the right option from menu on video screen).
Special plant based stage
In this game we have an intriguing twist - this time the work is devoted not to animals, but to plants, as well as fungi and lichens. Ohoho, what a twist! But I can say from last season that the plant stage was one of the most colourful and interesting, because it gives so many opportunities to choose the format of work.
What do we have in K?
There are not many English-language options, but there are some. For example: kiwi, kaki persimmon, kumquat, kale, kohlrabi, kola nut, kelp, king fern, king protea, kidney beans, kaffir lime, kiwano, Korean pear, knautia, knapweed. I think you can also look in your own languages, for example in Finnish there is spruce (kuusi) and chanterell (kantarelli).
When should I finish my work?
You work until October 31 and post the finished work on your social media (Instagram, Facebook) with the hashtags #bibabowildmarathon and #bwm_2024. Also, please, send me the link to your entry to direct message on socialmedia or to website mail, then we will not miss it.
Deadline is October 31.
You may do several works.
If you can't make it in time, post it later. I will add all entries to the collection, but late entries will not participate in our monthly collage, our wall of honour.
I will put together a general collection which I will publish on November 1. Then we will ruffle the new task. Can you imagine what an encyclopaedia of flora and fauna this will be!
Here are the blooming results of the sixth #bibabowowildmarathon game for October for the letter K (Russian K).
The game was not a regular game, but a plant game, so we have an incredible forest-garden-orchard. The letter offered a huge number of options. I hope that I'll still find time to create all great K-characters. I really like playing with plants.
This time we have 26 colourful works so far, I know that a couple more will join the team.
Most of all we have gorgeous maples in our collection - autumn clearly dictates the mood. And also magical cacti and succulents - it's like an exotic garden in here. We also have marvellous clematis, clover, including happy clover, chestnut, crocus and even drumsticks - Craspedia spherica. I am glad that there are also mushrooms in the collection: appetising aspen mushrooms and amusing caloscera. Also pleased with the vegetable garden - here we have leafy cabbage, white cabbage, kohlrabi, corn, strawberries, potatoes, and courgettes of two kinds.
I had a hard time choosing, so now I own another K letter dream list. In the end, the potato won. It turned out to be a tricky hero, but I've been planning to add it to my collection for a long time. So we're off to a good start. You do know there are 5,000 potato varieties, right?
If your work is missing, please let me know, I'll fix it for sure.
