In May, in the first game of the new season #bibabowowildmarathon, we got the letter H (Russian X). And this is not a usual stage, but a monochrome one! What a start!
Quick rules
Once a month, we randomly raffle a letter of the alphabet, to which you must choose from any of our planet's current fauna - from a bug to a whale - according to your tastes. Within a month you have to make a work inspired by this character and post it with the tag #bibabowildmarathon, adding a couple of interesting facts about this animal in the description of the work. Work in any format or technique as long as it's to your liking and suits your creative ideas.
You can see the full rules of the game on the start page of the game (choose the right option from menu on video screen).
Special monochrome stage
In this game we have an intriguing twist - the work must be done in monochrome. Only black and white. There are two ways: pick up an animal in the appropriate colour or discolour any animal you like. The task is not easy, but quite interesting. Instead of colour, let's concentrate on shape and details!
Who do we have in H?
Actually, H is great monochrome letter, so many choices to consider: hippo), harbour seal, hedgehog, hammerhead shark, hamster, hare, hermit crab, herring, heron, honey badger, honey bee, horgi, horn shark, horse, housefly, howler monkey, Humboldt penguin, Humboldt squid, humpback whale.
When should I finish my work?
You work until May 31 and post the finished work on your social media (Instagram, Facebook) with the hashtags #bibabowildmarathon.
Deadline is May 31.
You may do several works.
If you can't make it in time, post it later. I will add all entries to the collection, but late entries will not participate in our monthly collage, our wall of honour.
I will put together a general collection which I will publish on June 1. Then we will ruffle the new task. Can you imagine what an encyclopaedia of animals this will be!

Wild Marathon 2024: results of the first game
Time to summarise the first game of the #bibabowowildmarathon for May on the letter H (Russian X). The game immediately threw up a challenging monochrome task, but there is no lack of colour in the final collage!
We have 26 entries so far, but I'm not sure that's all of them. Someone put the wrong tags, and some works are not visible even with the correct tag. I don't know what to do about it. I guess I'll have to make a new tag. Any ideas? In any case, if your work is not in the collage, write, I will add it.
Thank you all for participating in a difficult stage! The characters turned out so cool, all very lively. Such a clear example that it's not colour that brings a work to life. Although, I admit, it was very difficult without colour, and, very often, it is a bright colour touch that makes the image of the hero iconic - the blue eyes of a husky, the golden crest of a crested penguin, the yellow beak and paws of a gull.
In this game, the hamster with a margin has come out on top with four cheeky representatives. Behind them are not lagging behind the wonderful paired heroes - huskies, chameleons, tufted duck, humpback whales and horses. I want to note that in this game we not only have a huge variety of species, but also a lot of rare specimens. Especially from the sea abyss. There are grayling, the incredible long-nosed chimaera, the hammerhead shark, and even the Humboldt squid. We also have two kinds of beetles: Scarab and the Hercules beetle. The Scarab beatles turned out very stylishly - who could have imagined? We also have a temple turtle, a country swallow, a rooster, a Pallas's gull, a shiny raven and a tufted Chinese dog in our collection.
I had to read extra about some of the characters, so amazing and unexpected! Great game!
I had a hard time discolouring the animals. I realised how important colour is, even a tiny coloured detail creates an image. That's why I chose a hero with monochrome colouring - a husky. Although now my husky looks more like a wolf cub, but if I change his eyes to blue, he is quite recognisable. In general, many huskies have brown, yellow and even light grey, almost white eyes. So there were no difficulties here. But I will still work with the shape and contrast, there is room to grow.
